Dish to Sell Wireless Spectrum If Network Plans Fail
Per Bloomberg Business Week, “Dish network Corp. (DISH) will sell its spectrum if current plans to find a partner to create a wireless network don’t work,” Chairman Charles Ergen said. At a Dana Point, California conference hosted by AllThingsD, Ergen was quoted as saying “Dish has billions of dollars of spectrum that could be come available.”
As it has been well publicized, the company is seeking to create a wireless network for its customers. This is why Dish has offered $3.30 a share for a minority stake in wireless carrier Clearwire Corp (CLWR).
