Introducing Facebook Paper
How does Facebook celebrate its upcoming 10th birthday? By launching a new app, how else. Today Facebook announced that on Monday February 3rd they will be launching a standalone news reader app for iOS platforms named Paper.
This new app comes from the creative force driving Facebook Creative Labs, a division of Facebook that is creating apps aimed at Facebook’s audience. Paper will help Facebook users to look through their Facebook News Feed, with the option to set up various sections with themes and topics the user prefers.
In their blog post announcing the new Paper app Facebook listed the following features:
Everything responds to your touch so you can pick up or thumb through stories with simple, natural movements
You can tilt your phone to explore high-resolution panoramic photos from corner to corner, and see faces and other important details up close
Fullscreen autoplay videos come to life and bring you deep into the action
Beautifully detailed covers make it easy to spot articles from trusted publishers and decide what to read or watch.· Articles unfold in the app and appear full screen for a focused reading experience
When you’re ready to tell your own story, you know exactly what your post or photo will look like because you see a live preview before you share it
Along with the announcement Facebook posted a video that shows off what the app will do, which you can view below:
