Today’s Word Review: Getting Rid of Your Word of the Day Calendar

Platform: Windows Phone

Price: Free

Windows Phone users, be ready to say goodbye to the word of the day calendar that you have sitting on your desk. Now you can replace it with Today’s Word app that has just been released on the Windows Phone Store.

With the Today’s Word app all you have to do is open the app and you will be given the word of the day. You can also view the previous day’s word if you missed it and, if you can’t wait, you can also look at what the word of the day will be for the next day. Included with each of the word are its definition and an example of how the word is used. Some words also include the pronunciation and their origin. The one catch to access future word of the days is to review the app on the Windows Phone Store, a fair trade to open up this option.

One thing I would like to see improved with future updates is to have the option to be able to pin the app to the Windows Phone lock screen background. This would only help keep the app at the top of mind for users that there is a new word of the day.

-Learning new words every day

-Availability of the previous and next day’s word

-Definition, pronunciation and origin of word provided

-Lack of lock screen support at launch

Today’s Word is an app that all Windows Phone users should download and pin to your home screen immediately. Soon enough you will have vocabulary that may even surprise you.
