Verizon's 4G Rollout way ahead of schedule
Originally expected to be completed by the end of 2013, Shammo sped that date up by stating that the roll out will be completed by the middle of next year. Shammo was quick to point out that though there were some issues with the roll out in 2011, specifically network reliability, the network is now functioning properly and is stable.
He also rattled off some interesting numbers about the network and data adoption. So far 35% of all data is occurring on the 4G network. This is pretty impressive given that up until a month ago, the iPhone was not offered in a 4G variant. With the full 3G footprint expected to be covered in LTE by the end of 2013 now, it looks like Verizon is setting itself up to be not only the first fully rolled out LTE network, but also a pioneer in LTE-Advanced when that technology becomes available.
